Chitose specializes in the Osaka meat soup dish “nikusui” and is equally popular with locals and tourists. Nikusui is a dish based on meat “udon” noodles (called “Niku-udon” in Japan). The soup is topped with a soft boiled egg, spring onion and thinly-sliced beef.

2　CHIBO (Sennichimae Main Shop)  

Chibo is specializing in the savory pancakes known as okonomiyaki, with a history spanning more than 30 years. This well-established restaurant uses only the freshes ingredients when cooking its various types of okonomiyaki, as well as delicious course menus. Very tasty! Give it a try!

3　TENCHIJIN

If you want really delicious inexpensive fresh cooked ramen then this is a must visit. The egg yolk is naturally very red.  It tastes awesome as well.  The soup is thick and it wraps around the noodle nicely.  Every mouthful of the noodle was soaked with the rich soup.  Surprisingly, the soup isn’t greasy or anything.  Not too salty as well.  The meal that comes with bbq pork and rice is great as well. Superb!!!

4　JIYUKEN

Jiyuken is a western-style restaurant opened in 1910. There is a specialty dish, called “Meibutsu curry”. “Meibutsu” means famous or specialty. It’s curry rice with raw egg.  The flavor is kind of  smoothy and bit of spicy. It’s very delicious and historic shop with many stories!

5　SHABUTEI (namba sennichimae)

Shabu shabu is a healthy dish and it is getting popular among foreign tourists in Japan. Meat and sesami dipping sauce is the key to great Shabu shabu. Sesami dipping sauce is very and tasty. 6　KATSUDON HOZENJI YOKOCHO

Katsudon (rice and pork cutlet) specialty shop “Katsudon” is in Hozenji Yokocho where around 60 shops with a history line the streets, and a popular site of Naniwa atmosphere. Aizuya is said to be the inventor of takoyaki and their Namba branch can be found at an underground shopping street close to the subway Namba station. There are eat-in space to take a break and enjoy snacking during your shopping. They offer 3 types including the very original recipe of takoyaki called radioyaki.

This small takoyaki has a strong flavor and it’s delicious even without sauce!
