One of the main attractions of Furano is lavender fields. Enjoy the beautiful purple carpets of lavender in full bloom. Farm Tomita has more than 100-year history of the lavender field. It has tremendous number of flowers and also lavender related snacks such as a lavender ice cream or lavender candies are available. Come and check the place out. Just make sure to find the right place as there are many similar fields.

“Biei” is a small town surrounded by hills. Once you see this magnificent view with all four seasons, it will sweep you off your feet. It is the best location to take pictures since it has a pyramid structured observatory which allows enjoy to a stunning view of steep hills and great mountains of Tokachi. It offers beautiful landscapes around the year.

It is worth visit to the mysterious blue pond that the color of pond is truly blue. While snowing it becomes white which is beautiful as well. The pond used to be banded to visit before 2010. An early morning walk will be beautiful.

Asahiyama Zoo is the must-see attraction in Asahikawa! The way of exhibition is so unique that innate behavior of animals are exhibited as “behavior exhibition” that the zoo has been one of the most popular zoo in Japan which once exceeded Tokyo Ueno Zoo’s numbers of visitors. It is a great place to visit especially for children to observe innate unique activities and movements of animals in North part of Japan!

The Asahidake ropeway connects elevation of 11000m (Sanroku station) to 1600m (Sugatami station.) The view from the top of mountain is absolutely magnificent.It is highly recommended to climb the Asahidake if you have time. You may get to meet Asiatic chipmunks. However you should be well-equipped as the weather is likely change.
