Japan Rail Pass is a discount ticket for foreign travelers, offered by the six companies that belong t o the Japan Railways Group. First of all, be sure that the JR Pass cannot be purchased inside Japan. Therefore, we can’t help you purchase the JR Pass.You need to obtain an exchange receipt at a travel agent in your country.
The receipt can be exchanged at the ticket counter of designated major JR stations in Japan. Since there are several restrictions and requirements of using the JR Pass, check the following website beforehand. It can be also used on seat reservation for Shinkansen Train and limited express, however, notice that the waiting line might be long and seat reservations are particularly difficult on high seasons. In addition, the seats for passenger with wheelchair are limited in number and difficult to reserve, JR Pass is not recommended for wheelchair users. Consultation and advice are free of charge.

How to purchase the JR Pass
Here are a few steps to get the JR Pass:
- Purchase the JR pass at following travel agents which belong to the Japan Railways Group before leaving your country: JTB, Nippon Travel Agency, Kinki Nippon Tourist, Tobu Top Tours, JAL, ANA, JAL Pack and agents belong to them.
- Exchange a receipt for the JP Pass after arriving in Japan.
(Find a service counter at any major JR stations to exchange the JP Pass with your passport and a receipt.)

Types of Ticket and Price:
The JP Pass allows you to get a great deal and a hassle free trip around the country comparing it to making a purchase of train ticket each time. There are a few choices to make for types of ticket: a first class or a coach class, and a period of validity of 7 days, 14 days and 21 days.
The JR Pass must be exchanged with a receipt of your purchase within 3 months from the day of purchase and the start day of use must be set when exchanging to the JR Pass.
